Prince Young is a Canadian R&B artist who was born in Toronto, Rexdale area but grew up mostly in the Jane and Finch area. He grew up as a kid listening to R&B artists like Usher Raymond, Luther Vandross and Michael Jackson. He got most of his influences and ideas of the genre from the style and voices of these artists. He describes Usher Raymond IV single "You Make Me Wanna" on his second album "My Way" and others like "Nice and slow" an asset that makes him want to make timeless music as well. Prince Young is a hard working artist striving to get his own product on the market. He's an intelligent business man motivated to do what he does best which is singing and entertaining. In February 2009, he posted a song called "Tonight" on his MySpace page and it got a lot of attention with over 1,000 plays which not bad for a local artist that's just getting started. He describes his music as hearing a story in a song. His message to his fans is get to know Prince Young. His music flow and the taste of my music. He also asks fans for support. When not in the studio, he loves to work out in a gym, play video games and go online to his social networks to communicate with fans. He also praises his family for supporting his career and wants young people to stay positive, remain drug free, leave gang ties and live a good life. As a humble young new artist, Prince Young has worked in a volunteered capacity as an intern for Canada's leading music blog HipHossip.com created in 2007 by Journalist and Publicist Kemi Omololu Olunloyo of Toronto. While working with Olunloyo and accompanying her as a personal assistant, he got to learn the business, get exposed to industry executives and accomplished music stars. Among such stars he has met and/or interviewed are Canadas King of R&B S. Davis, British R&B singer Estelle, Canadian East Coast Rapper Classified, Atlantas own Rapper Gorilla Zoe, Canadian R&B singer DiJa at the 2009 Canadian Radio Music Awards, phone interviews with Rapper Jadakiss and R&B singer Bobby Valentino. He also met a rapper by the name of Drake who is now signed to Young Money records and also Travis McCoy of the Gym Class Heroes while he was on tour in Toronto. Travis is currently signed to T-Pains label. Prince Young is planning to make his first official debut at the 2009 MuchMusic awards in Toronto June 21st 2009. He also plans to attend the Toronto Independent Music awards and the NNXE music festival for HipHossip Canada. He laments going everywhere with Ms Kemi of Hiphossip has exposed me to learning from the industry experts. He continues to work on new music in the studio and is present on a variety of social media.
